Rockland Trust Co.
Hanover-based Rockland Trust Co. gave $50,000 to Cambridge community development nonprofit Just A Start, through the bank’s foundation, to help support the new Economic Mobility Hub at the nonprofit’s Ringe Commons tower. The under-construction mixed-use development includes a 19,000-square-foot career training center aimed at the biotech sector and 24 affordable apartments.

Nonprofit Cradles to Crayons received a $5,000 donation as part of The Village Bank’s Great Giveaway contest. Customers of the Newton bank were automatically entered to win the $10,000 giveaway by swiping their debit card over the summer and the winner, Newton resident Michael Monticelli, was awarded a $5,000 check and a $5,000 donation to make to a charity.
