BankGloucester gave away $30,000 to 19 local organizations based on over 10,000 votes from area residents as part of its annual Banking the Community event.

Bridgewater Credit Union

Bridgewater Credit Union held a shred-it day at its Fairhaven branch Oct. 7, raising $1,000 for Fairhaven High School juniors and will cover the cost of buses for the junior prom this spring.

Central One Federal Credit Union

Employees from Shrewsbury-based Central One Federal Credit Union volunteered and built 10 beds for A Bed for Every Child, a nonprofit that donates children’s’ beds to families in need.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union recently awarded $1,000 to four local residents, out of 100 nominated by community members, that it dubbed “Hometown Heroes” for acts of selflessness that made an impact on a community.

Newburyport Bank and Pentucket Bank

Newburyport Bank and Haverhill’s Pentucket Bank partnered to donate $2,500 to the Exchange Club of Haverhill’s annual Hillie Hunt scavenger hunt event and $10,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill to support its largest annual fundraiser, dubbed “Casino Royale.” The two banks are part of the same mutual holding company, River Run Bancorp.

Newburyport Bank separately gave $2,500 to Lamprey Health Care of Newmarket, New Hampshire in support of the organization’s annual patient support services fundraiser.
