Doug Flutie passes out $5 bills for Eastern Bank’s Join Us for Good campaign.

Banks across the commonwealth are featured in this week’s community service roundup.

 

Eastern Bank

Eastern Bank teamed up with former Boston College and NFL quarterback Doug Flutie and handed out $10,000 worth of $5 bills to passersby at Faneuil Hall and Back Bay as part of its Join Us for Good campaign, with hopes that the recipients would pay it forward.

 

MutualOne Bank

MutualOne Charitable Foundation awarded $5,000 to upgrade and add equipment in the Callahan Center’s Computer Literacy Center through a grant to The Friends of Callahan.

 

North Shore Bank

North Shore Bank donated $1,200 to DanversCARES, a program of the town of Danvers and managed through the school department that supports youth and families in making healthy decisions.

 

Reading Cooperative Bank

Over the last several months, Reading Cooperative Bank employees volunteered their time once a month to serve breakfast at the Lazarus House Soup Kitchen in Lawrence.

 

Southbridge Savings Bank

Southbridge Savings Bank’s Charitable Donations Committee announced the donation of $36,000 to the Worcester Community Action Council to assist local residents with home heating costs this winter. The bank is committing to a total of $4,000 to each community it serves.
