Alexandria Real Estate Equities and Anchor Line Partners have revealed their plans for a large lab project the two firms are proposing in South Boston.

Banker & Tradesman first reported on the project’s existence in early February. The Alexandria-Anchor Line partnership filed their proposal with the Boston Planning and Development Agency on Friday.

Situated steps from the Red Line’s Broadway station, the project would occupy the entirety of a small block between A Street and the South Boston Bypass Road, bounded to the north by 2nd Street and to the south by 3rd Street.

A stub of Bolton Street runs through the parcel, which Alexandria and Anchor Line propose to buy from the city.

At 210,000 square feet, the building would be smaller than some recent Kendall Square lab projects. Elkus Manfredi is the project architect.
