Burlington-based developer Nordblom Co. has acquired the Audacy media group’s studios near a gateway intersection in Allston.
The 2-acre property at 83 Leo Birmingham Parkway property includes radio station studios and surface parking.
The seller is Philadelphia-based Audacy, parent of WEEI, which last month announced a reorganization plan to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The Allston address also is listed as the studios of Magic 106.7 WMJX, Mix 104.1 WWBX and Big 103 WGBG.
An Audacy spokesman said today the company plans to relocate the studios, but has not yet identified a location.
Nordblom Co. was not immediately available for comment. According to a Suffolk County mortgage, Nordblom agreed to purchase the property for $18.1 million. It includes a 38,758-square-foot studio building.
The property is located in an area that’s attracted significant development activity in recent years, including Mount Vernon Co.’s Radius apartments, a 117-unit apartment complex approved at 30 Leo Birmingham Parkway and a large mixed-use development approved for the WBZ-TV studios property on Soldiers Field Road.
Last month, Audacy announced a plan to reduce its $1.9 billion debt to $350 million and emerge from bankruptcy protection.
