A $150-million loan from Citizens Bank will kickstart construction of a long-anticipated expansion of the 27-acre Cambridge Discovery Park.
Boston-based developer Bulfinch will build a 270,000-square-foot lab building and 383-space parking garage on speculation.
Designated as Building 400-500, the six-story life science building will include large floor plates and two separate lobbies, a fitness center, cafeteria, patio and roof deck.
Existing Cambridge Discovery Park tenants include Forrester Research’s headquarters, The Smithsonian Astrophysical Institution, FogPharma, LifeMine Therapeutics, Genocea Biosciences Inc. and a 150-room AC by Marriott Hotel.
Building 400-500 is the last phase of Bulfinch’s master-planned redevelopment totaling nearly 800,000 square-feet of lab, office and amenities. The property is a former headquarters of consultants Arthur D. Little.
