Eastern Bank is moving its main office to the tower at 125 High St. in downtown Boston in the spring, a short distance from its current home at 265 Franklin St.

The bank has reduced office space to embrace hybrid and remote work setups. Employees will have flexible work options, said Eastern Bank spokesperson Andrea Goodman, depending on business needs and allowing teams to choose what works for them, whether remote, hybrid or on-site work setup. For employees who work fully on-site, the bank offers three additional personal days per year.

“We’ve enjoyed 265 Franklin Street and its extremely convenient location, and our relationship with Clarendon, the building owner. We look forward at the same time to 125 High Street, owned by Tishman Speyer, which offers a variety of spaces and building amenities, including a gym, ample parking, a conference center, and event spaces, that align well to the different work options we offer to our workforce,” Goodman said in an email.

The Boston Business Journal first reported the move. The new office will accommodate around 155 employees, including teams from the pending merger with Cambridge Trust.

Goodman said the new office space will prioritize employee well-being, noting the use of materials that are good for indoor air quality.

The office will also have hoteling, where employees schedule the use of desks and cubicles, as well as offices, open workspaces, rooms for privacy and a nursing mothers room.
