Elevator Contractor Expanding Woburn Operations

Mitsubishi Electric US Inc. is expanding its Massachusetts presence with a lease of additional office and warehouse space in Woburn.

The company is using the 4,500-square-foot space at 6 Gill St. to support its elevator and escalator division’s expansion, according to landlord Cummings Properties.

“Our initial entry into the Greater Boston area was to support two spiral escalators at a new high-end casino; we are the only manufacturer of this type of escalator,” said Mike Eden, eastern region director of the elevator and escalator division. “We have since secured several other prominent projects in the region, which called for a well-positioned office/warehouse facility.”

Cummings Properties leasing director Mike Truesdale worked directly with Mitsubishi Electric on the transaction.
