Erland Construction has been awarded preconstruction and construction services contracts for the expansion and renovation of the dining facilities within the McCarthy Center at Framingham State University.
The Burlington firm will team with designer Symmes Maini & McKee Assoc. of Cambridge, the Massachusetts State College Building Authority and Owner’s Representative Commercial Construction Consulting of Boston on the project. Erland will start construction this summer.
The 5,500-square-foot addition will add approximately 200 new seats to Framingham State University’s existing dining facilities. When completed, the school plans to utilize this new space for functions and large gatherings, as well as for student dining. Erland will install new equipment in the existing kitchen and provide additional kitchen food preparation and storage areas.
