A Boston fintech company is opening its first dedicated offices after subleasing space at Downtown Crossing.

Stride Funding Inc. subleased 3,200 square feet at 262 Washington St., in relocation from a coworking facility. The company plans to double its local workforce to 50 employees by the end of the year.

The firm specializes in payment plans for students in higher education and alternative education programs.

“We are a people-first culture, and our team really values collaborating, having quality in-person time, and bonding over group activities and office game nights, so we see the investment in this space as an investment in our team,” CEO Tess Michaels said in a statement.

Avison Young Vice President Kirk Weller represented Stride in its negotiations with the sublessor, Tallan Inc.
