A former car wash is the newest transit-oriented multifamily development to hit the market in East Cambridge, touting its proximity to life science and medical job clusters.

The Point 262 complex list eight units available ranging from $899,000 to $1.2 million. The 7-story, 84,000-square-foot complex at 262 Monsignor O’Brien Highway was designed by Somerville-based Khalsa Design Inc.

The 20 one-bedroom units average 840 square feet, while two-bedroom units average 1,050 square feet.

Designed by Somerville-based Khalsa Design Inc. and built by Nauset Construction, the units feature gray glazed birch flooring, LED fixtures, high efficiency HVAC and balconies or terraces. Common area amenities include two roof decks and a workout area.

“We loved the location because it’s so walkable,” Eric Loth Jr., managing director for Minco Development Corp., said in a statement. “The enormous amount of jobs being created in Kendall Square is driving the demand for condominiums in this market, and Nauset really delivered for us on a complex build.”
