The head of General Electric is scheduled to speak this week to Boston business leaders about the company’s decision to relocate its global headquarters to the city and other topics.

Jeffrey Immelt will be the featured guest at Thursday’s Boston College Chief Executives Club lunch at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

He’ll take part in a conversation with MassChallenge CEO and founder John Harthorne that will touch on leadership lessons, corporate culture and innovation. MassChallenge is a Boston-based business accelerator program.

GE announced in January it was moving to Boston’s Seaport District from Fairfield, Connecticut, where it employs about 800 people. The move is set to begin this summer and be completed by 2018.

Immelt took over as chairman and CEO of GE when Jack Welch retired in 2001.
