Wifi coverage along the entire 1.5-mile length of Boston’s Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway is getting an upgrade to “carrier-grade” level by the end of September.

Work recently began on the network upgrades through a partnership with three tech companies, the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy announced Tuesday. Three transmitters on nearby buildings will be relayed to 32 wifi access points along the urban park, providing connections up to 10 mbps.

The free Greenway wifi service has provided more than 400,000 log-ons since it launched in 2010, including 107,000 in 2014. The service is provided by PTS, DAS Communications and Anaptyx.
