Rockland Trust Co.’s parent Independent Bank Corp. announced the appointment of Michael P. Hogan to both it and Rockland Trust’s boards of directors.

Hogan is president and CEO of the A.D. Makepeace Co., a privately-owned company based in Wareham that is the world’s largest cranberry grower. Hogan is responsible for growing the company’s Cranberry Division and serves on the Ocean Spray board of directors. Hogan also directs all aspects of the company’s real estate development, land stewardship and other business lines.

Prior to joining A.D. Makepeace Co., Hogan was president of MassDevelopment. He also recently served as chairman of the board of directors of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, a public policy organization comprised of chief executive officers and senior executives from some of the state’s largest employers whose mission is to strengthen the state’s economic vitality. Hogan also serves on the executive board of the Associated Industries of Massachusetts and on the board of directors of NAIOP.
