What: Boston Trust Walden offices
Where: One Beacon St., Boston
Built: 2022-2023

Investment managers Boston Trust Walden selected Margulies Perruzzi Architects to design renovations to their new offices on the 34th floor of One Beacon in Boston.

The firm, which has $14 billion in assets under management, prioritized smaller offices and workspaces with direct access to daylight. Architects designed perimeter offices with glass fronts to bring light into interior spaces, and created alcoves at the perimeter for workstations to maximize natural light.

A collaboration area includes a coffee bar, pantry and variety of seating options, next to a client area with four conference rooms.

The project team also included Gorderman & Co., WB Engineers, Officeworks, Boston Light Source and owner’s project manager Newmark.

They Said It:

“The space is transparent and welcoming and encourages people to move around and interact with one another — something we were missing before.”
— Sarah Kelly, chief operating officer, Boston Trust Walden
