Demolition of a Medford bus repair garage this month will clear the way for construction a 20,000-square-foot beer hall and restaurant with capacity for 1,020 patrons.

In October 2022, the property owners of 142 Mystic Ave. received approval from the Medford Planning Board to redevelop the 1-acre site. Designed by Vision 3 Architects of Providence, the Great American Beer Hall will include indoor seating for 210 patrons and 198 outdoor patio seats. West Bridgewater-based Haynes Group is general contractor for the $10 million project, which is scheduled for completion in June 2024.

Operators plan a monthly “taproom takeover” spotlighting the offerings of New England breweries, including Tilted Barn Brewery of Exeter, Rhode Island. West Medford-based Snappy Patty’s will operate the food service.
