Equity Residential and Boston-based Cabot, Cabot & Forbes are partnering on redevelopment of a former office property in Wakefield into three new buildings containing 440 apartments.

The Basin will include a lakeside path, multiple roof decks and a 3,600-square-foot waterfront restaurant.

Developers contributed $2.3 million toward roadway improvements, $1.3 million to improve the lake’s water quality and will construct a substation for the Wakefield Police Department.

Completion of the first building is scheduled for late 2025.
