Brigham and Women Hospital’s updated Endoscopy Center reflects Margulies Perruzzi’s emphasis on natural light, improved wayfinding and welcoming public spaces in health care facilities.

The Boston-based architects’ health care studio designed the 12,300-square-foot renovation project, including a modernization of the hospital’s endoscopy center and vascular imaging suite.

The project created eight licensed procedure rooms and expanded the pre-op and post-anesthesia care unit to include 21 stretcher bays. Built in three phases, the project enabled the hospital to continue treating patients in both units during construction.

They Said It:

“Our design process centers around prioritizing patient and caregiver safety, comfort, and functionality.”
— Edward Marcey, health care studio leader, Margulies Perruzzi
