Island Creek Oyster Bar will open a 268-seat restaurant in Burlington next year as the owners of New England Executive Park continue to reposition the 13-building property they acquired in 2013 for $216 million.

The office park developed from the 1960s through the 1980s has been renamed The District to reflect an emerging mixed-use format with new amenities including restaurants and a planned Marriott Hotel.

“The District will allow tenants to enjoy a multifaceted, vibrant workspace encouraging collaboration and networking that extends beyond work hours,” Andrew Gallinaro, senior vice president at Newton-based National Development, said in a statement.

The property overlooking Route 128 added restaurant tenants Tuscan Kitchen and Tavern In The Square in recent years, and has approvals for up to six restaurants.

The original Island Creek Oyster Bar opened in Kenmore Square in 2010, as a partnership of Eastern Standard founder Garrett Harker and Skip Bennett of Duxbury-based Island Creek Oysters. The 8,500-square-foot Burlington location will be located next to the new Marriott on the main driveway of the development.

The next phase of updates to The District begins this summer and will include construction of a parking garage and renovations to building 7 including a 54,000-square-foot addition to create 80,000 square feet of new workspace, a roof deck and new glass exterior. The park contains 200,000 square feet of available office space and a 180,000-square-foot build-to-suit parcel.

A joint venture of National Development, AEW Capital Management and Charles River Realty Investors acquired the property in June 2013 from Blackstone’s Equity Office Properties.
