JM Electrical Co. Inc. recently completed a building systems upgrade project in Cambridge’s Kendall Square.

The property is a 10-story, 541,000-square-foot multiuse development at 60 Binney St. The company installed a complete temperature control system in the building’s office space as well as controls in its laboratory spaces.

“The Kendall Square area certainly sets high standards for sustainability, and 60 Binney, being designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, is yet another example of that standard,” President at JM Electrical Paul Guarracino said in a statement. “The office and lab control systems designed by a leader in Building Automation Systems which we installed will ensure energy efficiency throughout the development, while also saving on energy costs and reducing carbon emissions.”

Developed by Alexandria Real Estate Equities and designed by Spagnolo Gisness & Assoc., the class-A lab and office building will house the new headquarters for both Genzyme Corp., which will be occupying 251,000 square feet of space, and Bluebird Bio, which will be occupying 253,000 square feet.

The ground floor will contain retail opportunities.

Other amenities include an underground parking garage with car-share service and on-site bike parking and shower facilities for bike commuters. The building has convenient access to both Green and Red line MBTA stops, as well as EZRide shuttle service.

JM Electrical has recently completed several large-scale installations at developments in the Greater Boston area. Among these are Northeastern University’s Interdisciplinary Science & Engineering Complex, Boston University’s Center for Integrated Life Sciences & Engineering and Harvard Memorial Church.
