A clinical-stage life science company is expanding at Jumbo Capital’s One Patriots Park in Bedford after signing a lease extension for its existing lab space.
Homology Medicines will add 23,000 square feet of lab space to its existing 68,500-square-foot research facility.
Bedford-based Homology Medicines raised $144 million in a 2018 initial public offering and relocated from Lexington to the larger Bedford headquarters. The company has three clinical programs and is researching gene therapies for Hunter syndrome.
“The goal at One Patriots Park was to bring in supplemental, lab-ready infrastructure and work with our prospective tenants to ensure their laboratory needs would be met,” Nick Trocki, vice president and asset manager at Jumbo Capital, said in a statement.
Newmark Managing Director Matt Malatesta and Executive Managing Director Torin Taylor represented the owner Jumbo Capital in the lease negotiation. Cresa’s Paul Delaney and Dan Sullivan represented Cresa.
Quincy-based Jumbo Capital bought the 143,616-square-foot One Patriots Park, then 66 percent leased, in December 2020 for $72.5 million.
