Danvers-based developer Kavanagh Advisory Group has submitted plans for another major project in Boston’s Seaport District, rebuilding the Wharf 8/Pier 7 site near the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion for a 122,500-square-foot commercial development.

The potential tenants include small-scale marine companies and the Boston Harbor Pilot Association, the developers notified the Boston Planning and Development Agency this week.

The site spans 6.5 acres, including approximately an approximately 2-acre footprint where a former U.S. Navy pier was located. The property is owned by the Economic Development and Industrial Corp. of Boston.

Kavanagh Advisory Group said the size and location of the project, including a new 61,250-square-foot pier, should support small maritime industrial uses and marine research.

Kavanagh also is partnering with Boston-based Related Beal on development of iSQ Seaport, an office and lab complex at 6 Tide St. Cambridge-based Mass Innovation Labs leased 54,000 square feet in December to kickstart construction of the first 125,000-square-foot phase of the 375,000-square-foot development.
