Departing Massport CEO Thomas Glynn has landed on his feet as head of a Harvard University venture that will oversee the planning and development of its Allston properties.

Commonwealth Magazine reports Glynn’s appointment “gives the university a skilled inside player to deal with the real estate side of the project, neighborhood concerns and the complex negotiations with state transportation officials over road and transit service in the area.”

Glynn has been Massport’s CEO since 2012 and was formerly the head of the MBTA and Partners HealthCare.

Harvard envisions its Allston properties as another Kendall Square, Commonwealth reports, and wants to attract not just life sciences companies, but residential development, restaurants and retail to the 47-acre spread.
