A Cambridge startup will receive a year of free office-lab space at a Newton incubator that’s tapping into the life science growth in the western suburbs.
Founded by MIT and Harvard University researchers, Concerto Biosciences researches microbial ensembles for health, farming and environmental applications.
Located at 60 Bridge St., LabShares Newton provides turnkey lab and coworking space for early-stage life science companies including access to shared lab equipment and conference rooms.
Its Launch@Labshares competition provides the equivalent of $50,000 in free rent for companies founded in the last three years that have four or fewer employees and have raised a maximum of $2 million.
Previous award recipients include Savran Technologies and three companies active in the COVID-19 diagnostic space: DOTS Technology Corp, Mantle Biotech and NowAware, a subsidiary of Bambu Global.
