A pedestrian was injured by falling construction debris Friday afternoon at The Hub on Causeway development at Boston’s North Station.

The mishap occurred shortly before 4 p.m at 82 Causeway St. in front of the Hub Hall food hall that is currently under construction.

Police closed Causeway Street and sidewalks and advised commuters to use the Haverhill Street MBTA station entrance to access the tunnel leading to North Station.

An eyewitness told Banker & Tradesman that the accident occurred in front of the Hub Hall food hall and that the victim appeared to have suffered a shoulder injury. A large group of onlookers rushed to the person’s aid.

WCVB reports the accident was caused by plywood from a construction barrier that blew off the roof.

In July, construction was briefly halted after a crane cable failed and dumped a load of steel onto a trailer next to the construction site.

The food hall is one of the final elements of the 1.8-million-square-foot mixed-use project being built on the former TD Garden parking lot.
