An East Boston multifamily development is being resubmitted after the developer added a second building site that would create a combined 41 housing units.

Boston-based MG2 Group LLC proposes the project at 2 Ford St. and 970 Saratoga St. in Orient Heights.

The 6,090-square-foot Saratoga Street parking lot was recently added to the project site and would include 14 housing units and 2,815 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

The proposal includes 18 on-site parking spaces at 2 Ford St.  The original 2019 proposal included 25 parking spaces in a ground-floor enclosed stacking system. The site is located 900 feet from the MBTA’s Orient Heights station.

Designed by Boston-based architects Context, the two 4-story buildings would feature a cement fiber board and metal panel facade.

“The design will present a unique appearance as it relates to its immediate context and will serve as a compelling precedent for the area’s future development,” the development team states in a small project application to the Boston Planning & Development Agency.
