A portion of the Analogic Corp. campus in Peabody would be redeveloped into an Amazon last-mile delivery station under newly-submitted plans by Burlington-based R.J. Kelly Management.

A 515,000-square-foot manufacturing and R&D building would be demolished to make way for a new 183,000-square-foot delivery station including 1,181 parking spaces for employees and delivery vehicles.

The facility at 8 Centennial Drive would operate 24-7 and create nearly 1,800 vehicle trips daily, according to an environmental notification form submitted to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

The first wave of delivery vans would leave the property at 10:10 a.m. and return after 7:10 p.m. to minimize the effects on rush hour traffic, developers stated. The bulk of the new vehicle trips would be concentrated on Centennial Drive because the fleet would take the place of existing delivery vans serving Amazon customers on the North Shore, the application states.

The facility would be equipped with 17 loading docks and five trailer storage spaces. The project requires site plan approval by the Peabody Planning Board, according to Andrew Levin, senior planner for the city of Peabody.
