RE/MAX Holdings’ mortgage brand, Motto Mortgage, has entered the New England market with its first Massachusetts office.

Motto Mortgage Northeast has opened in Pembroke as an independently owned franchise, like all Mortgage Motto offices in the U.S.

The Pembroke franchise was established by Mike Guimares, who has more than 16 years of experience in real estate, according to a statement from Motto Mortgage. The office will cover all areas of the state.

“Motto Mortgage Northeast offers an advantageous alternative to the traditional mortgage bankers currently operating in Massachusetts,” Guimares said in the statement. “We provide the scope, scale and support of a large retail lender, while offering the flexibility, autonomy and exceptional service of a local mortgage broker.”

Loan originators in the Motto Mortgage network have access to loans from various wholesale lenders. Guimares, Bob Case and Chris Sumner are the mortgage loan originators for the Pembroke office. The Denver-based Motto Mortgage has a network that connects loan originators and real estate agents.

The Motto Mortgage franchise began operating in 2016. The franchise currently has more than 125 offices open in 30 states and announced in a statement in August that it had sold its 200th franchise.

Motto Mortgage’s New England expansion follows RE/MAX Holdings’ September acquisition of wemlo, a Florida-based fintech that provides third-party mortgage loan processing services. Wemlo has developed a service cloud for the mortgage broker channel that combines third-party loan processing with an all-in-one digital platform, RE/MAX Holdings said in a statement.

The Pembroke office is open and implementing health precautions. A digital mortgage option is available for borrowers who want to conduct business remotely.
