Marisha Day, branch manager at Rockland Trust's new Westborough branch

Rockland Trust Bank has opened a new branch in Westborough, giving the bank eight branches in Worcester County and 123 branches overall.

The new branch is located at 35 Lyman St. The $20.1 billion-asset Rockland Trust has opened five new branches in the area over the past two years, including three in the city of Worcester and one in Shrewsbury. The bank also has a commercial lending and investment management office at 100 Front St. in Worcester.

“Our expansion into MetroWest and Worcester County has been an extremely important part of the bank’s growth strategy over the last several years,” Rob Cozzone, chief operating officer and executive vice president of retail and business banking at Rockland Trust, said in a statement. “Our success depends on having a strong branch presence where our exceptional colleagues can build meaningful relationships within the local community. We are excited to serve new individuals, families, and businesses in Westborough, and look forward to providing additional convenience to those who already bank with us.”

The new branch will have a dedicated wealth management financial consultant, business banking officer and mortgage loan officer, Rockland Trust said in the statement. Marisha Day is the Westborough branch manager, and she will lead a team of relationship bankers who will assist with everyday transactions, in-branch and digital banking technology, and other financial services, the statement said.

Day has nearly a decade of retail banking leadership experience and was most recently a branch manager at Berkshire Bank in Westborough. She has also led branch teams at Santander and Citizen’s Bank, the statement said.

“I have been lucky to spend the majority of my career as a retail branch manager in Westborough,” Day said in the statement. “Our team is inspired by the connectedness of this community and thrilled to introduce our neighbors to Rockland Trust’s relationship-oriented style of banking.”

As part of the branch opening, the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation will provide $10,000 to One Mission, a Westborough organization providing children and families dealing with pediatric cancer with financial and emotional support.
