The former Rutland State Hospital property is now available for development.

The town of Rutland is seeking proposals from developers who want to bring life back to the 88-acre site, the Worcester Business Journal reports.

The property’s buildings were demolished in 2005 and the site was decontaminated. Town officials are hoping for assisted living proposals, but they aren’t wedded to any particular use, the WBJ reports.
