A microdistillery in Salem has received a MassDevelopment loan to purchase production equipment for its products.
MassDevelopment has provided a $150,000 equipment loan to Deacon Giles Inc., which produces craft gin and rum at 75 Canal St. in Salem.
The financing package also includes an export guarantee as part of the loan.
“Entrepreneurs are the backbone of the commonwealth’s innovation economy, and companies like Deacon Giles are meeting high demand for local craft products,” MassDevelopment President and CEO Marty Jones said in a statement.
