Salem Five Bank is being lauded for its newly redesigned website.

The company announced last week that it has received the Bank Standard of Excellence Award from the Web Marketing Association for its work on SalemFive.com.

The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for internet marketing and recognition of the best websites. Now in its 17th year, the Web Award program is the longest running annual website award competition dedicated to naming the best websites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

“The new SalemFive.com was born out of the bank’s drive to consistently deliver great digital experiences for our customers,” Nicole Costa, Salem Five’s vice president of digital commerce, said in a statement. “The goal of the project was to create an intelligent, constantly evolving website that serves the growing digital needs of the market.”

Salem Five’s new website was officially launched in February 2018 after over a year in development with the bank’s digital commerce team. It was rebuilt with Episerver software, which allows the bank to personalize each visitor’s website experience as they interact with the brand.

Among the site’s new features is an education center that offers users information and guidance on financial matters ranging from retirement, credit and debt, home ownership, cybersecurity, personal money management, workplace finances and small business.

The site also has geolocation capabilities that automatically show users the Salem Five location nearest to them and bank experts available in their community, as well as an upgraded search feature that allows for more targeted searching and filtering. Additionally, the site incorporates the bank’s social media feeds in real time on it. 

“It’s great to be getting recognition for the new site,” Jim Nelson, Salem Five’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “With streamlined user experiences and an adaptable platform, we’re in a better position to provide our customers with the tools they need to uncomplicate money.”
