A second phase of The Coolidge at Sudbury will generate 56 affordable apartment units for seniors, a $20 million project led by Brighton-based B’nai B’rith Housing that’s scheduled to open in 2020.

Sudbury town meeting approved $320,000 in Community Preservation Funds this week for the project which recently broke ground at 189 Boston Post Road. The first phase, which was completed in 2014, included 64 apartments.

Designed by The Architectural Team of Chelsea, the new building will include one-bedroom units and a meeting room, library and fitness center. An on-site service coordinator will partner with local agencies on wellness and educational programs.

Closing on the financing for The Coolidge at Sudbury Phase 2 was completed with Bank of America. Funding sources included low-income housing tax credits, Massachusetts Housing Partnership, state HOME funds, Affordable Housing Trust Funds, the Housing Stabilization Fund, the town of Sudbury’s Housing Trust, the WestMetro HOME Consortium and the Charles Farnsworth Trust.
