Virginia-based Settlers Life Insurance Co. has expanded its life insurance products into New England.

Beginning March 16, the company’s whole life final expense plans are available to residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Maine. Connecticut is expected to be available later this year.

Settlers has also launched product upgrades to its final expense offerings.

“We have built a terrific life insurance product, end of life assistance platform and a back office partner support center second to none in our space,” Steve Bontell, chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Settlers Life believes that life insurance is more than a piece of paper and a promise.”

Settlers Life Insurance is headquartered in Bristol, Va., and operates in 42 states.
