The first phase of a new residential neighborhood in Devens recently broke ground.

The Emerson Green neighborhood currently consists of 18 homes, but the next phase of construction will bring the number of homes in the development to 124.

Emerson Green, part of the former Fort Devens property currently undergoing redevelopment by MassDevelopment as a mixed-use community, is the first major new residential development to be built in Devens.

The neighborhood contains a mixture of single-family homes, ranging from approximately 1,500 square feet to 1,930 square feet and duplexes around 1,400 square feet, which include many sustainable design features.

Home sales are projected to begin on Nov. 7 and the first residents are expected to move in during spring of next year.
