Maura Moffatt, managing director of investments at Boston-based Synergy Investments, has been named district council chair of the Urban Land Institute of Boston/New England.

An attorney and former partner at Goodwin Procter, Moffatt is currently responsible for the management and development of the Synergy Investments portfolio, including acquisitions, dispositions and portfolio management, which includes the financing and managing of debt and equity investor relationships.

Moffatt will succeed Don Briggs, executive vice president of development at Federal Realty Investment Trust, who served as district chair since 2014.
