Another developer is testing the market for new apartment construction in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood with plans for a 139-unit complex at 1558 Tremont St.

Brookline-based Tremont & Pontiac LLC will seek to demolish the 3-story building on the 0.47-acre site and build a 7-story, 99,059-square-foot building with two levels of parking.

The developer has agreed to reserve 44 parking spaces for the nearby Boston Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Tremont & Pontiac Manager Jason Savage stated in a notification letter to the Boston Planning & Development Agency.

Tremont & Pontiac acquired the property which contains a 6,221-square-foot mixed-use building in 2016 for $3.7 million, according to data compiled by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

The which also includes 10 parking spaces for residences is seeking approval under the BPDA’s Article 80 large project review.

Developers have submitted plans for more than 500 multifamily units in Mission Hill this month, including an 80-apartment, 47-condo development on Terrace Street and another 237 condos and apartments at 80 and 100 Smith St.
