The Davis Cos. have submitted plans for a large e-commerce-focused warehouse on the site of a produce distribution warehouse in an Everett industrial neighborhood along the Mystic River.

The company plans to the city for a a single-story, 221,800-square-foot industrial building at 34 Market St., a site currently occupied by one of three major produce distribution warehouses near Eversource’s Mystic Generating Station and the Chelsea-Everett line. The Davis Cos. bought the 18-acre site in 2019 for $28.5 million.

The building would be marketed to an unnamed “potential e-commerce user,” the company’s application stated. Amazon currently operates a distribution center nearby and recently completed work on converting the 800,0004-square-foot former Necco factory in Revere to a distribution center.

Unusual for a distribution center, 185 employee vehicle parking spots will be provided on the structure’s roof, along with several locations for bicycle parking. An additional 494 parking spaces for delivery vans will be provided on-site.
