Sarah AbramsNAIOP Massachusetts has elected a new president and board of directors, along with a new executive committee. The new board includes the principals of many of the region’s leading commercial real estate firms.

Sarah Abrams, president of Fidelity Real Estate Co., was elected president of NAIOP Massachusetts for 2010. She will work closely with NAIOP staff and chapter leadership to guide the chapter’s operations, according to a statement.

As president of Fidelity Real Estate, Abrams leads the organization responsible for providing the full range of corporate real estate services to Fidelity’s business units, both nationally and internationally. She oversees a portfolio in excess of 10 million square feet, with an annual capital budget of $500 million.

Abrams holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, magna cum laude, from Boston University, a law degree from the Cornell Law School and a master’s degree in real estate development from the Massachusetts’ Institute of Technology’s Center for Real Estate. She has taught at the Cornell Law School and at MIT’s Center for Real Estate.

Brian Kavoogian of Charles River Realty Investors will serve as president-elect, and Kevin McCall of Paradigm Properties will serve as chairman of the board of directors. McCall served as the 2009 chapter president, and Abrams served as the 2009 president-elect. Jamie Carlin, Crosspoint Associates, was elected the new secretary/treasurer, and Kathryn West, of Partners HealthCare System, will continue to serve as the chapter’s senior vice president of chapter affairs.

"Along with our other directors and officers, these individuals represent the top leaders of our industry, and they will serve as an excellent resource as our chapter continues to grow and to excel in the coming year."
