A global biopharma company will occupy an additional 155,000 square feet at 200 Cambridge Park Drive in Alewife after signing a lease expansion.

GSK will occupy the additional space in 2024, bringing its total square-footage to nearly 200,000 square feet, owner King Street Properties announced.

“The Cambridge market is tight on space, but we were able to provide GSK with the appropriate space to expand their lab facilities to continue to advance science and develop innovative products,” King Street Managing Director Chris Rouches said in a statement.

The 222,000-square-foot former Pfizer-owned office-lab building has been owned by King Street Properties since 2014, and underwent a series of renovations to accommodate new tenants.

CBRE’s Eric Smith and Jon Varholak represented GSK in the latest transaction.

In August, London-based GSK completed its acquisition of a Kendall Square biotech company, Affinivax, for a potential total cost of $3.3 billion.
