Worcester-based AllCom Credit Union has merged with neighboring Worcester Postal Credit Union, effective this month.
A spokeswoman for AllCom said the two institutions should be fully merged by July 1.
AllCom has about 3,900 members and 17 employees, while WPCU has about 1,500 members and four employees. A spokesperson for AllCom said the larger credit union will retain all of those employees. The spokeswoman said that Worcester Postal Credit Union wanted to be able to offer its members a wider range of banking products.
Both the credit unions’ locations will remain open. However, the Worcester Postal Credit Union is located in a restricted area of a postal facility. The general public does not have access to this location, and only postal members will be able to conduct business there.
At the end of 2012, AllCom had $57.7 million in assets and Worcester Postal Credit Union had $9.8 million in assets.
