Amazon will open a 177,000-square-foot last-mile delivery station in Worcester at an industrial property that was acquired by Burlington-based R.J. Kelly Co. in September for $7.2 million.

The 19.5-acre property at 125 Goddard Memorial Drive contains a manufacturing building and was formerly owned by TE Connectivity Corp.

Amazon said Tuesday that it has leased the entire building for a last-mile facility that will open in early 2021. The property will be used for sorting of products from larger fulfillment centers and delivery to local customers, Amazon announced. The station will create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs, paying a minimum of $15 per hour.

Amazon currently has more than 150 delivery stations nationwide. Finard Properties also is seeking to demolish Worcester’s Greendale Mall for an Amazon distribution center, after acquiring the property in 2019 for $7.1 million.
