After signing Amazon to a massive warehouse lease in Revere, Framingham-based developer Atlantic Management has gained a commitment from the e-commerce leader for a $40 million robotics research hub in Westborough.

The former Astrazeneca property will be converted into a 350,000-square-foot office, R&D and manufacturing complex for 200 employees scheduled to open in 2021, Amazon announced today.

The complex will augment Amazon’s 228,921-square-foot robotics research hub at 300 Riverpark Drive in North Reading, which it acquired in buying Kiva Systems in 2012.

Atlantic Management bought the 66-acre former AstraZeneca property last year for $6.5 million with a redevelopment strategy. The property at 50 Otis St. contains a 450,000-square-foot former biomanufacturing facility.

The Westborough transaction comes less than a month after Amazon picked Revere’s former Necco factory as its newest distribution site in Greater Boston, leasing the entire 800,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility from Atlantic Management and its partner VMD Cos. of Andover.

Atlantic Management has attracted a series of high-profile tenants to its Massachusetts properties in recent years, luring GE Healthcare Life Sciences and Whole Foods Market’s regional headquarters to its 110-acre Marlborough Hills property. That office park was previously anchored by Hewlett Packard.
