A 5-story downtown Boston office property built in 1899 has sold for $50.25 million.

An affiliate of Plymouth Rock Assurance Corp. sold 99 Bedford St. to an affiliate of Credit Suisse on Nov. 1, according to documents filed in the Suffolk Registry of Deeds.

The 81,670-square-foot building is assessed at $22.39 million, according to city property records. Plymouth Rock bought the building in February 2003 for $10 million, according to sales records provided by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. Warren Group information also shows Plymouth Rock mortgaged the building for $25 million in May.
