The Hatter’s Point Condominium Association Inc.  has voted to revive a planned second phase of construction for the over-55 community, and is now seeking bids on development rights from experienced developers. Hatter's Point Phase I

The first phase of the development, located at 60 Merrimac St. in Amesbury, was completed in 2007 and includes 44 units in a renovated mill building with views of the Merrimack river, all of which have been sold. Scott David, principle of Tiger Property Services, which manages the property, told Banker & Tradesman that the 2008 death of the original developer, William Sullivan, brought the project to a halt. Existing plans for the second phase call for a further 36 to 40 units to be completed on a 2.5-acre portion of the site.

David has been appointed to receive bids on behalf of the board. The board is hoping to begin reviewing offers by the mid April, he said.

"It’s a great use of a historically significant old factory building," said David.
