Somerville-based Naveo Credit Union has named Andrea White as its new president and CEO, making her the first woman to lead the organization.
White replaces longtime CEO Rui Domingos, who left Naveo to become CEO of MIT Federal Credit Union in March. Albert Pinho, Naveo’s vice president of lending, had been interim CEO since late March.
“We are excited to welcome Andrea to the Naveo team! We’re confident that Andrea’s experience, energy, vision and leadership will allow Naveo to continue being a key player in our community, providing exceptional member experiences and building upon partnerships that benefit the communities and neighborhoods we serve,” Leontina Mancini, chairperson of Naveo’s board of directors, said in a statement. “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Albert Pinho for his leadership and commitment for serving as interim CEO over the past six months. We are grateful for his dedication.”
White was previously senior vice president of community banking at Freedom National Bank in Rhode Island, and prior to that role, she was part of the leadership team at Commonwealth National Bank in Worcester. White has been on the board of directors at the Whitin Community Center in Whitinsville. She is also a senior certified professional with the Society of Human Resource Management.
“I am thrilled to work with Naveo’s talented team and to immerse myself in the mission of the credit union,” White said in a statement. “There is nothing more rewarding than helping to make a positive impact on people’s lives. I look forward to leading an organization that exemplifies those values every day.”
