Hingham’s BackRiver Townhomes, created by The Hastings Cos., won the gold award in the "$1 Million +" category sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders.
BackRiver beat out the Ritz Carlton Residences in New York City, a high-rise tower in San Diego, a ski resort in Utah, and a high-rise tower in Chegudu, China for the award for "Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Over $1 Million," according to a statement. Design East Interiors of North Hampton, N.H., designed the interior of the BackRiver model.
"Receiving top honors in this very competitive category from a judging panel comprised of our peers is the highest tribute," said Tom Hastings, president of The Hastings Cos. "And beating out some of the most prestigious developments and their designers is an incredible honor."
BackRiver, a mix of Newport and Nantucket styles, offers walk-out gardens patios and views of the adjacent 500-acre Bare Cove Park and the historic Back River. The community consists of 45 townhomes ranging from 2,200 square feet to 3,800 square feet and is priced from $775,000 to $1.4 million.
