BayCoast Bank last week celebrated the opening its new branch South Dartmouth located inside the Big Value Outlet Plaza.

Bank officials were joined by local public officials and customers at an opening reception held May 20. The bank broke ground on the new branch, located at 714 Dartmouth St., in August 2014. Milena Mello is the branch manager and assistant treasurer.

The branch is the bank’s second location in Dartmouth and 18th overall. It features an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM), also known as a virtual teller, as well as a Smart ATM, open-concept floor plan and technology bar that allows employees to assist customers with online banking channels.

“It has been a great experience for us to go through the process of building this new branch and becoming a part of the South Dartmouth community. We are very happy to solidify our Dartmouth presence with this new location, and look forward to a long relationship with the community and our new neighbors here,” Nicholas Christ, president and CEO of BayCoast Bank, said in a statement.
