Boston Private continues to bring in new faces.

The company said yesterday that it has hired Emmett Maguire III as managing director of search and selection, a role that will be a key part of the firm’s strategic expansion of its capabilities in order to better meet the unique needs of both clients and the financial marketplace.

Maguire will take the lead on all of Boston Private’s external manager search, selection and due diligence processes. In addition, he will be an integral part of the firm’s Asset Allocation Working Group, which will allow the existing team to leverage his experience in multi-asset class investing and portfolio construction when creating investment solutions for clients. Maguire will report directly to Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer Shannon Saccocia.

“We’re excited to have Emmett join our team and look forward to working with him as we strive to provide meaningful and diversified wealth solutions,” Saccocia said in a statement. “Boston Private is committed to understanding what drives our clients, and we’re excited to see the ways Emmett delivers on our promise to ensure our clients can live and work the way they want.”

Prior to joining Boston Private, Maguire worked as the investment and treasury manager at Draper. He also previously spent seven years at Lake Street Advisors as director of investments where he was responsible for leading research, selection and oversight of the firm’s investment managers, as well as creating capital market assumptions and overseeing the firm’s asset allocation across all asset classes. Earlier in his career, Maguire worked for several years as a research analyst at Twin Focus Capital Partners, where he developed the firm’s manager research process.

Maguire is part of a long list of new hires Boston Private has made this year including General Counsel Colleen Graham, Executive Vice President Bill Woodson, Managing Director Edward Marshall, Chief Operating and Platform Officer Maura Almy, and Paul Simons, president of private banking.
