Construction of a 101-room boutique hotel has begun at 1834 Revere Beach Parkway in Everett.

The Envision Hotel Boston Everett is part of Rockville, Maryland-based Choice Hotels International’s Ascend Hotel Collection, a portfolio of independently owned hotels and resorts. The first prototype is located on South Huntington Avenue in Boston; additional locations are scheduled to open this summer in St. Paul, Minnesota and next year in Iowa City, Iowa.

Choice Hotels signed 37 domestic franchise agreements for the Ascend brand during 2015 and will expand into the United Kingdom with two properties in Edinburgh, CEO Steve Joyce said in a conference call to discuss the company’s fourth-quarter financial performance.

Average daily rates in the Ascend portfolio were $127 in 2015 with an occupancy rate of 58.8 percent, according to Choice Hotel financial statements. The company franchises more than 6,400 hotels worldwide including the Ascend, Cambria, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inn and Econo Lodge brands.
